An Itchy Blessing

Yes, you heard me right.  It was an itch on my leg today that turned an almost complaint into a great big thank you to the Universe.  🙂

I woke up this morning with an itch on my leg.  I wasn't fully awake yet, so I didn't really think much of it.  When I got in the shower today the itch became intense and I realized I had...a mosquito bite.  Now I know what you are thinking, BIG DEAL, a mosquito bite, get over yourself lady, lol!  Well, this lady is allergic to mosquito bites, so they get very, very big, itch like crazy, and become little open wounds!

Anyway, I was in the shower just about to think to myself, "Ugh, a mosquito bite, that sucks!"  When suddenly I realized something that stopped my complaint in mid thought.  😉  In the last 2 years since we have lived in California, I have only had about 3 mosquito bites total.  This is significant in my little world, because mosquito's seem to love me!  They don't touch my husband, but the eat me alive, lol!  Where we lived in Arizona I would get hundreds of mosquito bites every year!  Yuck!

So, yep, that is my little story today about how I turned an "almost complaint" for a measly little mosquito bite into a grateful "thank you" to the Universe for moving me to a place where I am blessed enough to only have one mosquito bite today, when it could be many, many bites like I have experienced for the past 20 years.

Sometimes it is the small things in life that make such a big difference!  What small thing in your life is making a huge difference in your overall well-being?  ♥

    • Hi Cheryl!

We lived on the east side of Tucson. 🙂 Moved to California 2 years ago and I couldn’t be happier! 🙂 We were just in Tucson a couple of weeks ago actually, to visit family and friends.
      Love & Light,

      • Well, I am very happy that you are happy in California.I have lived here since 1979 and I ADORE Az. Looking for others of like mind nearby ; )

  1. I am right there with you Beth!!!! I am a feast for mosquitoes! In fact, I have three huge welts right now, I am very allergic too! I remember a couple of years ago living across from a retension pond, I had 34 bites in one weekend!!!! That was the worst ever! ♥

    • Yikes…been there too Marie! Once I had over 100 on my body at once, just from spending an hour outside with friends having dinner on the patio in AZ….I got so sick from that. 🙁 Today was just a little reminder to stop complaining about the small stuff and count my blessings. 🙂

  2. you may want to pop a B12 daily as those suckers don’t like the smell of your body, but no one human can tell the difference, lol

    • Oh yeah Linda, that sounds interesting! If I was still having bad issues with them out here, I might try that. Like I said, I can handle one a year, compared to getting over 100 in an hour back where I used to live. Today’s post is all about counting blessings and letting the “small stuff” go. 🙂

    • Thanks Diane, good to know! 🙂 I hope everyone got the point of my post, lol. I wasn’t complaining about the mosquito’s….I am rejoicing for the small blessing of NOT having the bites like I have had before. This one bite today reminded me of the small blessings in my life, and for that I am so grateful! 😀
