It's a journey that all of us take...the journey towards loving ourselves more fully.
Valentine's Day seems to invoke so many feelings in people ~ both of excitement, and disappointment...and for some, both at the same time. What if, instead of focusing on this holiday and what it "represents" at a material level.....what if we embraced the day as our own - regardless of cards and flowers, and beautiful jewelry! What if we looked in the mirror and said "I love you" to the face in the mirror!?
Don't get me wrong, it's nice to have someone to share the day with. And it's exciting to get that beautiful bouquet of flowers that you can take a picture of and post on Facebook, to show off how 'awesome' your mate is. We all want that at some level. Yes, even you - the one who says you hate Valentine's Day, and everything it stands for. At some level you too want someone to spoil you, so that you can show off 'how loved you are.' I totally get it! We all want to feel that we are special to someone else...and we want play the Valentine's Day "competition" game. We want to show off our specialness in the form of flowers, chocolates, and teddy bears. And when we aren't winning this silly game, it can really bring us down. Again, I totally get it!
But this year - significant other or not... I challenge you to let go of that 'ideal.' Embrace yourself, and love yourself so deeply that you want to share your awesomeness with the world today, no matter what! Take a great photo of YOU, and post that on Facebook today. It's okay if you have flowers to share....but why not share your beauty? =)
When you feel love for yourself, you attract more love into your life. It is the law of attraction. If you have a partner, you will be all that more attractive to them if you outwardly love yourself. If you don't have a significant other at the moment, loving yourself will attract more loving people into your life! It's a fact - people appear more attractive to others when they love themselves.
My Mother used to tell me in my teen years:
"Smile, because you never know who is falling in love with your smile."
I have always remembered those words, thank you Mom! ♥ Now I share these words with you today.
Happy Valentine's Day from Mystic Sea Angel! You are loved!!!
